Gothernburg, Sweden

My first destination for my weekend getaway of heavy labs and reports. Keith is heading back to Singapore and he invited me for a stay in Gothernberg. So, I took a night train to Oslo and then to Gothernburg.

Gothernburg is 2nd largest city after Stockholm. After staying 2 weeks in a cute, small town. A city definitely amaze me. With shopping center, trams and delicious food @ fish-church.
I did not really explore the city much, just merely meet friend and to get some stuff that i need for the rest of my stay in Norway, as he is heading back. We enjoyed a lot in climbing up the fortress, Universum and the Ferris Wheel. :)

Thanks for hosting me.

Friends and Study

So they are different groups of friend that I met here.

The angmohs: yea, red hair, blonde hair, brown hair, blue eyes, grey eyes, from Italy, France, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Swiss, Norway ...

My BI 3017 Classmate, Very helpful Solveig, Pretty Kine, Cute Ester, Funny Lise and Smart Siv. Almost hang out with them everyday in Jan,Lab, Lesson, Report and Lunchtime, got a lot info about Norway and Norwegian's culture.

My flatmates: Elisa, Jan and later Charlotte

The Koreans: too many Koreans and they are really nice and funny

ofcoz The Singaporeans: Serene the da jie , Yi Han the bad influence and 5 the others from NUS ( there are 7 actually)

It is really busy months in Jan due to the genetic Toxicology course. I stay in Lab almost everyday, else the computers lab. I did not see sunlight often. being crowned as the most hardworking exchange student. For the 1st month only.

The following months are quite slack, class only on Tuesday and Thursday, and another intensive lesson for 2 weeks, not to forget the online video lecture.

The Norwegian master lesson are taugh in English, and no tutorials.. yay! however, a lot of journals to read and understand.

Hello Trondheim

Waving, hugging and saying goodbye to my friends and family and anticipating my journey to Trondheim, Norway.

The flight stopped at Bangkok, and it continued to Oslo, I swear I nearly cried when I see the white snow when the plane landed. There are 6 hours of transit to Trondheim and I have my first cultural shock.

I was extremely thirsty and guess how much a bottle of mineral wate
r sold at Oslo Airport.

NOK20 ( SGD 5.++)
The gassy, expensive drink

Ok since I am really thirsty, I have to buy. When I twist the cap off, it is Soooo Gassy and salty. Argh, at least I am not thirsty anymore.

* The fact is, the water from tap in Norway is drinkable, yet not much research before my arrival, hence.. lesson learned.

It was snowing out there, for the first time I see the snow.. I ran out the airport and try to capture the snowflakes.. *Jin Suagu*

So, happily I board Norwegian air to Trondheim. It is a beautiful town, but not a beautiful 1st day experience.

i) We lost our way in dark, icy evening.
ii) Sit Bolig (housing) reception close
iii) Spend $60 to stay in Hostel & some cab fare

Still, I love this peaceful, little student village
